More About TOILEVATOR
TOILEVATOR originated from a research team at the Center for Studies in Aging (CSiA). The research team included medical engineers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses and industrial designers. The team was researching the betterment of the lives of people with physical and cognitive challenges often associated with aging. These challenges have the potential to reduce the dignity and quality of life for anyone being affected by them. One clear need became a better solution to the raised toilet seats that fit onto the top of standard height toilets, in order to raise them to ADA standards. Existing raised toilet seats were unsafe, unsightly and unsanitary. The team came up with the innovative idea of raising the entire toilet as apposed to just raising the toilet seat. This allowed people to still use their toilet in the manner that it was originally designed. This is how The TOILEVATOR design took shape. The final TOILEVATOR design also required that it be in a complete kit that easy to install by a tradesman or DIY handyman.
