Designed to help identify infants and toddlers (0-3 years) who have language impairments or who have other disabilities that affect language development. Especially useful as an assessment and planning instrument for Early Childhood Intervention programs (P.L. 99-457). It has two core subtests (receptive and expressive language) and a new supplementary subtest, Inventory of Vocabulary Words. Results are obtained through an individual caregiver interview of 20 minutes. This edition is based on a contemporary linguistic model and current studies relating to normative base, reliability, and validity.
