• chromID CARBA agar is a selective chromogenic medium for the plating technique and isolation of Carbapenemase-Producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE)from laboratory samples containing a mixed population of microorganisms
• This medium is not intended to replace conventional susceptibility test methods and is not intended for screening, diagnostic use or to guide or monitor treatment; Sub-culturing is necessary for microorganism identification, susceptibility testing, and epidemiological typing
• chromID CARBA agar (patent pending) consists of a rich nutritive base combining different peptones
• Contains a mixture of antimicrobial agents which enable the selective growth of CPE
• Contains three chromogenic substrates which enable the presumptive identification of the most frequently isolated CPE: Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Serratia, Citrobacter
